STAGES (The Fruitful Stage)

Image
“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” John 15:2 (KJV).  Hi folks I am excited to be back, as I promised in my last edition, today we are going to look at the final stage called the “The Fruitful stage”. As I have already mentioned in my previous post, fruitfulness is the desired stage of everyone. Infact, it is also God’s heart desire that everyone comes into fruitfulness; as humans we were wired among other reasons to be fruitful. The first mandate God gave Adam reads “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful……………….” G enesis 1:28 (KJV).  Jesus Christ the second Adam came to accentuate the importance of fruitfulness in God’s scheme of things by saying that “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” John 15:2 (KJV). What made the whole issue

STAGES (The Dying Stage)

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”   Galatians 2:20 (KJV) Hi, I trust you are doing well by God’s grace, it’s been a week and as I said in my last edition today we will take a look at the second stage called the “The Dying Stage” . This is the most difficult of all the stages, at this moment most people are unable to survive because of the fierceness of the battles that are waged. The goal of Satan at this stage is to ensure that the seeds you and I have sown never amount to anything. This is the point where every garbage is thrown at us just to ensure that we do not amount to anything relative to the assignment.  Let’s go to our key scripture and look at it carefully - John 12:24(KJV) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it

"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest............................. shall not cease".  Genesis 8:22(KJV) Let’s continue from where we ended last week, as I promised in my introductory message, let’s move to the next destination called “The sowing stage”. As I have already established earlier on that every harvest requires sowing and the fact that every good thing you want in life is harvest, and I am sure you have heard of this popular saying “You cannot reap where you have not sown”. But lately, people want to reap where they have not sown.  Just this week I read an online article - it was a sermon purported to have been preached by Archbishop Nicholas Duncan William. A Summary of what he said was, people do not want to go through process yet the want to live certain kind of lifestyle; he talked about the fact that he had worked for 40 years to get to where he is today and yet young people and preachers want to have his level of success and dri

STAGES (INTRODUCTION)

“ To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” .  EcclesiaStes 3:1(KJV) It’s been quite a while, I was held by some circumstances beyond my control. Thank God, that is in the past, I am ready to ride along with you on our next journey called “STAGES”. Lately, I have been wondering why Jesus Christ didn’t come as a grown up, with all His messianic majesty and glory so as to make the fallen human beings believe in Him easily, but He rather chose to come as a baby born to a very average family and in a humiliating situation. As a baby, He went through all the stages every normal child goes through to attain maturity. As I reflect on this recurrent questions, a scripture passage that keeps popping up in my mind is Ecclesiastes 3:1(KJV) “ To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” . There are processes to everything under the sun and we must be able to understand the times and the season so as to stay afl

THE BENEFITS OF OVERCOMING JONAH’S KIND OF REPUTATION

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." James 4:10 (KJV)    “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”, Paul’s advice to his son Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV) always reminds me to review what I am doing as a Christian. It’s is really a profound reality check to me as far as God’s will for my life is concerned. There are 3 important landmarks in this scripture that is: (1) Fighting a good fight - which means that all of us Christians have a fight to fight, but it must be a good one, so It is very instructive of us to know what we choose to exert our energy and time on as people who are on assignment on this earth, some fights are worth your energy, while others are not. (2) Finish your course – There are many believers who have left their course unfinished because of societal pressure and the love for material possession. You and I must take cognizance of the fact that we all have our s

OVERCOMING JONAH’S KIND OF REPUTATION

There is a popular maxim in my local parlance that goes like this “He who sells his sickness, will definitely find a cure for it” it means that knowing your problems and seeking to resolve it , is actually solving the problem in itself, and choosing to sell your sickness means that you know your exact sickness. There is a difference between knowing that you have a problem and doing nothing about it on one hand, and knowing the problem and doing something about it on the other hand. I have met people who know that they a have problem yet they choose not to do anything about it and I have equally met people who have come to terms with the problems confronting them and then decided to do something about the problem. The latter always have the problem solved, whereas the former is continually plagued by their problems. The bibles says that “ The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:18(KJV) In the case of the

JONAH’S KIND OF REPUTATION, OUR STUMBLING BLOCK (HOW DOES IT BLOCK US)

I believe you are familiar with the saying “A Square Peg In a Round Hole” or “ A Round Peg in a Square Hole”? That is the kind of situation we will have when we find ourselves doing things just because of what people will say about us. I am not in any way suggesting that we should go around disrespecting the authorities or disregarding laid down rules, but all I am saying is that one should do what God has wired him to do irrespective of what society will think about him.   We should also be bold enough to challenge the Status Quo. What matters in life is what God says about us, I remember what the scriptures says in Luke 2:40(GNB) “The child grew and became strong; he was full of wisdom, and God's blessings were upon him.” And Luke_2:52(KJV) “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”   From this scripture, Jesus Christ found favour before God first, in other words he gave what God has called him to do a priority. Once we do that we

I am sure some of my readers are not very clear about what I meant by Jonah’s Kind of reputation. So I want to take my time to explain it in a definite term. But before we look at Jonah’s kind of reputation, it will be instructive for us to understand the meaning of the word reputation. Reputation by general definition, means views that are generally held about somebody or something, it also among other definitions, means a high opinion people or society hold about somebody or a thing.  For example there was a Philistine named Goliath and he was called a champion because the people held him in high esteem as an unconquerable man of war from his youth -  1 Samuel 17:4(KJV)  “And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span” and 1 Samuel 17:33(KJV) “And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man
