STAGES (The Dying Stage)

Image
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”   Galatians 2:20 (KJV) Hi, I trust you are doing well by God’s grace, it’s been a week and as I said in my last edition today we will take a look at the second stage called the “The Dying Stage” . This is the most difficult of all the stages, at this moment most people are unable to survive because of the fierceness of the battles that are waged. The goal of Satan at this stage is to ensure that the seeds you and I have sown never amount to anything. This is the point where every garbage is thrown at us just to ensure that we do not amount to anything relative to the assignment.  Let’s go to our key scripture and look at it carefully - John 12:24(KJV) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if i...

JONAH’S KIND OF REPUTATION, OUR STUMBLING BLOCK (HOW DOES IT BLOCK US)

Image
I believe you are familiar with the saying “A Square Peg In a Round Hole” or “ A Round Peg in a Square Hole”? That is the kind of situation we will have when we find ourselves doing things just because of what people will say about us. I am not in any way suggesting that we should go around disrespecting the authorities or disregarding laid down rules, but all I am saying is that one should do what God has wired him to do irrespective of what society will think about him.   We should also be bold enough to challenge the Status Quo. What matters in life is what God says about us, I remember what the scriptures says in Luke 2:40(GNB) “The child grew and became strong; he was full of wisdom, and God's blessings were upon him.” And Luke_2:52(KJV) “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”   From this scripture, Jesus Christ found favour before God first, in other words he gave what God has called him to do a priority. Once we do tha...

JONAH’S KIND OF REPUTATION, OUR STUMBLING BLOCK (WHAT IS JONAH’S KIND OF REPUTATION)

Image
I am sure some of my readers are not very clear about what I meant by Jonah’s Kind of reputation. So I want to take my time to explain it in a definite term. But before we look at Jonah’s kind of reputation, it will be instructive for us to understand the meaning of the word reputation. Reputation by general definition, means views that are generally held about somebody or something, it also among other definitions, means a high opinion people or society hold about somebody or a thing.  For example there was a Philistine named Goliath and he was called a champion because the people held him in high esteem as an unconquerable man of war from his youth -  1 Samuel 17:4(KJV)  “And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span” and 1 Samuel 17:33(KJV) “And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this ...

JONAH’S KIND OF REPUTATION, OUR STUMBLING BLOCK

Therefore, LORD, please kill me, because it's better for me to die than to live!"  Jonah 4:3(KJV)   Before we start this cruise, let me tell you a very fascinating and pertinent story – The story is about a well-known, respected, powerful and anointed man of God, who has been used by God to wrought mighty miracles. Together with his team they planned a crusade in one of the remotest village which is noted for having a powerful witch doctor who has charmed and captivated the whole town with his supernatural powers.  This witch doctor was feared and also well respected in the community. However, the sudden news of the arrival of the man of God for his planned crusade got to the attention of this witch doctor and he saw this as chance to prove the superiority of his powers to everybody as well as maintain his spiritual caliphate over the village. As expected, the man of God and his team arrived at the village and began to pray in preparation towards their impe...

THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF PORNOGRAPHY – A CASE STUDY OF KING DAVID

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.  Mathew_5:28(KJV)   Kunle and Demilola were college lovers, who happily got married after a very blissful and inspiring relationship. Just like some marriages, Kunle and Demilola started their own family with good jobs and a balance family live; they were able to make time out of their busy schedule to spend quality time with their two adorable kids as well as make time for the things of God. They were committed members of their local community church and their family life and faith served as an inspiration for a lot of people in the community;  the young men and women of their local community wished to one day grow up and become an exact replica of this couple.  Their two kids, Shola and John were one of the well- behaved and cultured kids in the community, just like their parents, many children in the community were being ...

THE TWO SIDES OF THE CROSS - How to Survive the Rough Side of the Cross (Part 4)

Image
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”  Act 1:8 We cannot draw the curtain to a close on this epic journey without talking about the Holy Spirit, our days is the era of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ told his disciples to wait in the upper room until the person who is supposed to replace Him comes, according to Act_1:8A (KJV) “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you……………….” This singular statement accentuated the important role of the Holy Spirit in our walk as Christians. If we are to experience any victory and survival on this faith journey, then it depends so much on how we depend on the third personality of the Godhead, which is the Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ, the person we are emulating came to the earth through the workings of the Holy Spirit according to Ma...

THE TWO SIDES OF THE CROSS - How to Survive the Rough Side of the Cross (Part 3)

“ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”  Joshua 1:8(KJV) ((1) Make Time For God’s Word  - The bedrock of Jesus’ ability to survive the rough side of the cross is the fact that he knew the will of God and he was willing to let that prevail - Mark 14:36 (KJV)  “And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt”.  It is only in knowing the will of God for our lives, coupled with an unflinching conviction to please Him that we can be motivated to continue defying the odds during the rough journey of our faith, the bible talked about Jesus in Hebrew 12:2B (KJV)  “…………who fo...

“ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice”  Ephesians 4:31 (KJV) 1.       Be Wary of Bitterness – Bitterness is a manifestation of an unforgiving, resentful, angry and belligerent heart, it is the number one killer of God’s grace in a believer’s life. The bible said in Hebrews 12:15 (KJV) “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled” , it’s effect is very negative and far reaching. Generations have been destroyed, wars have been waged, destinies have been destroyed, dreams have been caged, potentials have been unlocked, callings unfulfilled, marriage destroyed, the list is endless, all because of bitterness.       If any believer wants to see smooth progress in his walk with God, then he must grow in the grace of dealing with bitterness, the scripture  s...
