This social outburst has assumed a national character on the Ghanaian media landscape and a well-known Lawyer in Ghana has described people who watch pornography as “Sick people”. Although his description of people who watch porn may seem harsh, I turn to agree with him; people who are addicted to pornography are people who are sick and need serious curative attention to cure their sickening problems.  You may or may not agree with the stance I have taken against addiction to pornography, but what I have come to personally know is that pornographic addiction causes...

“God wants you to be holy and completely free from sexual immorality.  1 Thessalonians  4:3(GNB) Pornography!!! Hmm, is what I have come to call the silent killer of the faith of most Christians, especially men. I was surprised to hear a marriage counselor telling a couple he was taking through a marriage counselling section to watch pornography so as to know how to have sex, because I thought the bible says in 1Thessalonians_5:22(KJV)  “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” Let’s take a pause and look at the standard definition of the word pornography and then we look at it in the context of the scriptures.  The word Pornography according to the Encarta dictionary means anything that is portraying sex explicitly and intended to cause sexual arousal through films, writings, magazines, photographs and other mediums that makes sexual arousal overt. “ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice”  Ephesians 4:31 (KJV) 1.       Be Wary of Bitterness – Bitterness is a manifestation of an unforgiving, resentful, angry and belligerent heart, it is the number one killer of God’s grace in a believer’s life. The bible said in Hebrews 12:15 (KJV) “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled” , it’s effect is very negative and far reaching. Generations have been destroyed, wars have been waged, destinies have been destroyed, dreams have been caged, potentials have been unlocked, callings unfulfilled, marriage destroyed, the list is endless, all because of bitterness.       If any believer wants to see smooth progress in his walk with God, then he must grow in the grace of dealing with bitterness, the scripture  s...

Surviving the rough side of the cross is the toughest side of the Christian pilgrimage, this is a stage of make or break. You either come out of this phase bitter or better. The rough side of the cross is part of our Lord Jesus Christ’s grand plan for each of his followers; He said in Mathew_16:24 (KJV)  “ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”  This is where the fiercest battle of our Christian walk is waged, so us to subdue the flesh - our number one hindrance to the glory on the other side of the cross.  Satan with all his arsenal cannot win the battle against any believer without the cooperation of his flesh; the rough side of the cross is the place of mortification of the flesh and its counter-productive tendencies.
